September in Portugal is a great month. The weather is still warm, the beaches are usually less crowded and it’s a great time to experience what’s left of summer. The waves were not too big and a friend invited me to join him surfcasting on the beautiful coast of Ericeira. I decided to take my camera and take some pictures.
The view from above is impressive, but the way down is a bit treacherous.
Setting up: assembling the fishing rod and reel, rigging the terminal tackle and baiting.
Casting and waiting.

My dog helps pass the time while we wait for a fish to bite on the line.
Finally something bites: Unfortunately it’s a poisonous weever fish.
Time to try again and hope for better luck.
